Established by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Finland and supported by Shanghai Pudong Municipal Government, Shanghai FinChi Innovation Center Co.,Ltd is an extension of Finnish innovation environment to China. FinChi focuses on co-operation and networking between Finnish and Chinese companies and research centers.

    FinChi main location has been in Shanghai¡¯s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech park, a place where China¡¯s top technology companies such as Lenovo and Shanda have established their headquarters.

    Today public organizations Finpro (publicly supported consultation organization) and Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) operate at FinChi Innovation center ready to support Finnish companies on site. Strong private sector in FinChi represents various fields. Environmental technology, mobile applications and health care technology are focus areas today. Also forest industry is strongly represented in FinChi. More than 30 companies have started their China venture through FinChi community. Vital cooperation of public and private sector players is one of the key success factors of FinChi concept.

    To match the high-profile image, FinChi¡¯s office interior has been tastefully designed to provide a contemporary and innovative environment. The combination of Finnish design with Chinese Feng Shui concepts depicts the will of a strong partnership between Finland and China.

    After establishing solid service platform, FinChi has been focusing on success creation, integrating of innovations as the logo says. Initiatives are taken from China¡¯s five year plans, big city focus areas and general development trends. On Finnish side Tekes technology programs, Innovative companies and non utilized IPR provide a source of initiatives. These leads are discussed and developed together with FinChi VC Club and Mentor Club members, FinChi networks among authorities in China, local companies and innovators. The target of this work is to initiate success stories, where the best innovations of both Finnish and Chinese companies can be utilized hopefully bringing solutions to some of the challenges faced in China and other countries during coming years.

    FinChi has done plenty of service development based on faced customer needs during past two years. Thus a number of services are available from shelf today.
